Gastronomic experience at the Frauenkirche

Here you can experience culinary highlights in the middle of Dresden's picturesque old town: the Pulverturm vaulted restaurant is located next to the Frauenkirche and takes its guests back to the baroque era of Augustus the Strong. The restaurant celebrates the memory of life in the GDR with a loving decoration made up of artefacts from the era. The menu features authentic GDR classics, including the legendary solyanka and fine spiced meat.

For the discerning

Dresden Elbland has several restaurants under the starry sky: with the "Elements", the "Genuss-Atelier" and the "Atelier Sanssouci" in Radebeul, the choice varies between three places full of character and sophistication. We present these fine addresses.

Fine cuisine in a wonderful atmosphere

Anyone descending the 14 steps into the cosy cellar restaurant immediately feels at home: heavy sandstone walls and brick vaults conjure up a relaxed atmosphere - and the enjoyment here is as uncomplicated as it is complete. The cuisine is modern and creative, combining good produce and solid craftsmanship with a wealth of ideas. The Michelin-starred cuisine is accompanied by a fine wine list: all from East German winegrowers, including some very deliberate discoveries. In summer, there are even more stars above the pretty terrace!

Just like God in France!

Villa Sorgenfrei is located in one of the most beautiful former wine estates in Dresden-Radebeul - far more than a lovingly run "hotel", it is a very unique, magical place. And this fine address is also home to Atelier Sanssouci: the creative centre of chef Marcus Langer, who conjures up fine culinary delights for discerning gourmets. 1* Michelin star, 2 red toques in Gault Millau and 7 pans reflect the great French cuisine, realised at the highest level in a classic yet modern way.

When you look into elements DELI, you experience clarity, light and lots of white - the powerful contrasts to the Scandinavian chic are created on the plates. Here, things are uncomplicated, fast-paced, but with high quality standards. The pleasure address at the Blue Wonder

If you want to enjoy really good cake, Café Toscana has been at your side for over 125 years. But sweet is only one side of the story here. Every day between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., there is not only the finest confectionery but also really good food. An excellent breakfast selection meets classics such as a real Wiener Schnitzel, and organic and regional are also part of the good Saxon-international tone here. Sweet sins

Yes, things are sweet here in the Old Town, very close to the world-famous Frauenkirche. Behind the baroque façade of the Gewandhaus Hotel Dresden, fine ingredients are turned into art. Patissier Dirk Günther works in his craft as a "happiness maker". What is the result? Cakes, tarts and other sweet specialities that are often so beautiful to look at that it's hard to take a bite. Enjoy the creative and informal atmosphere in the Kuchen Atelier while you fortify yourself for the next sights - many are waiting for you just a few steps away!

A gatehouse as a stroke of luck.

Goodbye everyday hustle and bustle, hello T1: the old gatehouse, saved from demolition, is a small, beautiful café and bistro that has arrived in the here and now with heart and soul from the 1930s. Located directly at the main entrance to the Kulturkraftwerk Mitte power station, it looks like an enchanting time capsule: The warm light of the carbon filament lamps plays around the unfussy details, there is coffee and newspapers, soups and quiche, delicious cakes and - in the evening - Mediterranean finger food. Oh!

100% vegan. 100% nice.

A cosy living room atmosphere characterises the picture: old, comfortable chairs and armchairs, bright walls and art in bold colours are just the right, casual combination to make you want to sit back and look forward to your meal. Cakes and tarts, salads and the occasional burger make you want to come back. If you're in a hurry, there are also delicious ready-made sandwiches. Plus great coffees and teas and friendly service.
