Museums and exhibitions in Dresden Elbland

Grand museums, huge spectrum.

Yesterday, today, tomorrow & more.

The word "museum landscape" is hardly enough to describe Dresden Elbland's fascinating variety of museums. Over 50 museums and galleries make the state capital of Dresden alone a genuine European museum centre. Thanks to the passion for collecting of the Saxon electors, the basis for today's glittering exhibitions was laid here early on - fertile ground on which a colourful, extremely varied museum landscape was able to grow. Fascinating collections and special exhibitions await you everywhere in Dresden Elbland!

Museums on society and history

Lasting impressions - and lessons learnt

Dresden offers food for thought - and not always easy answers. The German Hygiene Museum, for example, regularly organises special exhibitions on topics that concern us all. To ensure that history is never forgotten, the Military History Museum comprehensively analyses the topic of war. And several memorials take an exemplary approach to the arduous yet authentic journey through Germany's violent history.
