Historic Grünes Gewölbe

At a glance

Das grüne Gewölbe ist eine visuelle Zeitreise in den Barock.

Named after the green-painted sandstone vaults in Dresden Castle, which were actually so safe that they were the only ones to withstand the destruction of war. You can see the precious treasures of gold and ivory, emeralds and diamonds, ornate paintings and equally skillful stone carvings in two museums: In the Historic Green Vault, it looks like it did in the days of Augustus the Strong. In the New Green Vault, treasures such as "The Court of Delhi" can only be seen behind glass.
