Full steam ahead into the Eastern Ore Mountains: the Weißeritz Valley Railway takes your guests daily from Freital-Hainsberg to the summer resort of Kipsdorf.
Germany's longest-serving train takes its passengers all the way into the Eastern Ore Mountains. Every day, it steams from the former mining town of Freital through the romantic Rabenauer Grund to the small town of Dippoldiswalde, first mentioned in a document in 1218, and on to the spa town of Kipsdorf.
With the Weißeritz Valley Railway, you will get to know a train that is deeply rooted in its homeland. The steam train takes you on a nostalgic journey through untouched nature. A ride on the Weißeritztalbahn leaves lasting impressions with a difference.
Clever event ideas invite you to take a ride on the Bimmelbahn again and again. The "Braumeister's Steam Train" provides a tasteful introduction, while the special trips at Easter, Ascension Day, Whitsun and St. Nicholas Day are all about tradition. The highlight of every event year is the narrow-gauge railroad festival along the Weißeritz Valley Railway. At all stations this weekend, communities and associations, the Upper Elbe Transport Association and the Bimmelbahn itself create experience points.
