River pleasure - from nostalgic to modern

Sweating, muscle-bound stokers in the engine room are now only childhood memories. But it is still worth taking a look at the engine room of the historic Elbe steamers, where pounding pistons and rotating shafts perform their mechanical spectacle with a high gloss.

The oldest steam engine on the "Diesbar" dates back to 1841 and the "youngest" of the listed ships was launched in 1929. If you like, you can also take a trip on the Elbe on two modern salon ships between Bad Schandau and Diesbar-Seußlitz. The river experience is possible during the summer season from April to early November.
