The Upper Elbe Transport Association (VVO) and the 14 transport companies cooperating with it offer modern local transport for residents and guests in the region.

The Verkehrsverbund Oberelbe takes care of the mobility of people in the region in the greater Dresden area. With a wide range of means of transport such as regional trains, streetcars, city and intercity buses and Elbe ferries, VVO ensures every day that people can reach a wide variety of destinations flexibly and conveniently. In order to make the use of public transport as easy as possible for residents and guests of the region, VVO attaches great importance to a well-developed and efficient local transport network, a uniform tariff system, comprehensible information and customer-friendly service.

In addition to the state capital Dresden, the VVO area includes the districts of Meißen, Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge and the western part of the district of Bautzen.
