Weißeritz Valley Railway

At a glance

Experience an excursion under steam - with the Weißeritztalbahn, Germany's longest-serving narrow-gauge railroad in public operation. The Weißeritz Valley Railway climbs the heights of the Eastern Ore Mountains on a 26-kilometre route, overcoming a difference in altitude of 350 meters.

The Weißeritztalbahn has been designated a "family-friendly experience" since 2023.

Steam train operation on a narrow gauge between Freital-Hainsberg and Kurort Kipsdorf.

The Weißeritztalbahn also offers regular special trips and events. Tickets are available directly from the narrow-gauge railroad.

Kipsdorf station is also an ideal starting point for planned hiking or cycling tours.
