Großenhainer Pflege circular trail - On the former mill path

There are various entry points for the tour, depending on how you arrive. We start with the route description in Thiendorf.

The tour starts in Thiendorf and leads south out of the village via the road "Zum Großteich". At the next fork, turn left towards Lötzschen and drive through the village on the road "Am Kettenbach"/K8535. Continue along Lötzschener Straße to Sacka, turn right at the second fork onto Siedlung and then right again after a left-hand bend onto Tauschaer Straße.

Follow the road to Tauscha and then turn right onto Pilgerstraße, cross Alte Poststraße and cycle straight on to Dobra. Leave the village via the road "Zum Kohlbusch" and Zschornaer Straße and cycle past the Brettmühlenteich pond directly into the Zschorna pond area. Between the large pond and the wide pond, cycle left onto "Zur Teichwirtchaft", pass the Zschorna moated castle and turn right into the road "Am Stausee".

Follow the road straight ahead into the forest, turn left at the next fork and after approx. 300 m turn right, cross the A13 highway and after approx. 1000 m turn left and then immediately left again to reach Rödern via field paths and over the Große Röder. Shortly before leaving the village, turn left onto Radeburger Straße/S91 to Oberrödern and at the end of the village turn right onto "Am Mühlweg" and cycle uphill along the farm track. Keep right at the next junction and follow the forest and field path to Oberebersbach. Cycle along the main road to Naunhofer Straße and then turn left onto this road. Here you can see the Bock windmill on the right, while the tour continues along the road to Naunhof.

Once there, turn right into Schulstraße and continue straight ahead to discover Lauterbach Castle and Park on the left after a few hundred meters. Then continue straight on along Hopfenbachstraße to Beiersdorf. Ride straight through the village, turn left at the Nauleis dam and after approx. 900 m turn right again to the village of Nauleis. Ride straight through the village to the village pond and then turn left onto the Am Rundling road before taking another country lane via Gauschemühle and Döbritzschen into the open countryside.

After approx. 3 km and before Großenhain, the route turns right and leads north along the Weßnitzbach stream to Wessnitz with the former mill and then follows the Viehweg onto the Rostiger Weg/Stadtweg road. Turn right onto the K8530 towards Kalkreuth. At the entrance to the village, turn right onto Großenhainer Straße and then immediately left onto Wettiner Straße towards the next mill. Here the cycle route continues along the road "An der Röder" and then turns right towards Bieberach. Cycle straight through the village of Bieberach via the Schäferei and Röderdamm towards Cunnersorf, where you turn left onto Lange Straße. Continue straight ahead along the pond landscape and the dam mill to Schönfeld. Here, turn right onto Großenhainer Straße and then left again before Schönfeld Castle onto Liegaer Straße, turn left past the Schäferteich pond and then left again after leaving the village to Schönborn. There, turn right onto Dorfstraße and ride through the village to the next renovated mill building, which has been converted into a residential building.

Continue along the district road K8515 to Blochwitz. Before entering the village, turn right onto the S99/Alte Hauptstraße and cycle through the village on this road.Follow the S99/L55 straight on to Ortrand and then via Großenhainer Straße, Grenzweg (right), Ponickauer Straße (left), Schützenhausstraße (right), Königsbrücker Straße (left) and along the railroad station. Then leave the town on the right over the railroad tracks on Kamenzer Straße and on the left on Heinersdorfer Straße in the direction of Kroppen/Heinersdorf.

In the village of Heinersdorf, the tour turns right along Heinersdorfer Straße to the south and leads along forest paths to Böhla. Ride straight on through the village via Ortrander Straße and Ponickauer Straße to reach Ponickau. Turn right before the church onto Ortrander Straße and then left onto Linzer Weg to Linz. In Linz, turn left onto Linzer Hauptstraße via "Im Rittergut" and "Im Schlosspark" and left again via the district road K8535 south to Liega.

Cycle straight on through Liega via the main road, after approx. 600 m turn left onto Kaltenbachweg to Kaltenbachmühle and cycle to Welxande. In Welxande, turn right onto Stölpchener Straße and continue straight on to Thiendorf, the starting point.
