An unforgettable trail through Zitzschewig - nature, culture and magnificent views

The hike through Zitzschewig promises pure magic - an experience for all the senses! The path up to Wettinhöhe may be challenging, but you can feel the anticipation of the climax from the very first step: once you reach the top, a breathtaking panorama opens up before you. The view sweeps over the sparkling rooftops of Dresden and the picturesque landscape of Radebeul.

The path continues along an impressive avenue of majestic oak trees, which tell the story of the region with their rustic charm. And then: the romantic island of love on the Krapenbergweg - a place straight out of a fairy tale that invites you to pause and dream.

A short detour to the viewpoints on the Zechstein is definitely worthwhile. From here, you can experience the vineyard landscape in all its beauty: adventure stations bring the fascinating world of dry grassland and the artistic Talut plant to life. In spring in particular, the slopes shine in vibrant colors when the dry grassland flowers are in full bloom. With binoculars, you can immerse yourself in the vineyard landscape, while the artfully curved serpentine lines the path like a work of art.

The gentle descent along the Langenbergweg trail follows the traces of times gone by. Here you can learn exciting facts about the historic water supply that once shaped life in the region. The educational wine trail on the Zechsteinweg invites you to discover the secrets of viticulture: from the different grape varieties to the detailed steps in the course of the year - the lovingly designed display boards bring the knowledge to life.

A special highlight awaits you on Barkengasse: the venerable Hohenhaus. Once an episcopal vineyard estate, later a place of nobility and a retreat for artists. Nobel Prize winner Gerhart Hauptmann found inspiration for his works here, making this place immortal in literary terms.
