Attention! Due to the Elbtal Wine Run on 11.10.2025, there may be restrictions on the Saxon Wine Hiking Trail on stages 5 and 6. Please avoid hiking on these sections on this day. Information about the wine run and the routes can be found here: https://www.elbtal-weinlauf.de/strecken/ After passing through the village of Niederau with its small tower windmill and the Nassau landscape protection area, you reach the Spaargebirge, a ridge between the wine village of Sörnewitz and Meißen.

The hiking trail passes vineyards, wineries, and historical evidence of wine growing, but also unique viewpoints overlooking the Elbe. Finally, it reaches the wine and porcelain town of Meißen with the Wine Experience World of the Meißen Wine Cooperative. The route is not barrier-free.

Attention! Please check the opening times of the various stopping points along the route before starting your hike to avoid arriving at closed doors. For example, seasonal wine taverns usually only open on weekends and in spring and autumn.
