A journey to the year 1730! Over 35 km, the route follows 11 stations of the "Spectacle of the Century" - the baroque military display of the Zeithain Lustlager.

The route is a 35-kilometer circular path that leads through the historic sites of the so-called Zeithain Lustlager from 1730. This baroque military spectacle under August the Strong, known as the "Spectacle of the Century", was meant to demonstrate military strength and offered guests numerous attractions.

The route begins at the Obelisk in Zeithain and passes through the towns of Heidehäuser, Tiefenau, Wülknitz, Streumen, Glaubitz, Grödel, Promnitz, and Röderau. Along the way, 11 stations with information boards invite you to learn more about the historic camp that once attracted thousands of soldiers and many European princes to the region. Highlights along the route include the Obelisk in Zeithain and the Tiefenau Castle Church, which impresses with a Silbermann organ and a rose garden. Other highlights are the Obelisk near Streumen and the Knight’s Estate in Promnitz, offering insight into the baroque splendor of that time.

Those interested in history can also visit the Ehrenhain Zeithain Memorial. The information and education center commemorates the victims of the Wehrmacht prisoner-of-war camp in Zeithain near Riesa from 1941 to 1945.

Additionally, the natural paths along the Gohrischheide nature reserve, a detour to the Waldbad Glaubitz, or the Saxon Fire Brigade Museum make the tour worthwhile.

With a mix of historic monuments, picturesque landscapes, and memories of the "Zeithain Lustlager," the route is an experience for culture and history enthusiasts.

More details on the route and maps can be found on the Elbe-Röder Triangle website and the Zeithain Lustlager website.
