The first documented mention of the winery with its main building, outbuildings, stables - a typical three-sided courtyard - and the Peterkeller dates back to 1622.
From 1688 until almost 300 years later, this manor, inherent in the name of the village, was inhabited by "Herrmänner". The main house and today's local history museum was built in 1794. The ensemble of buildings once housed two important branches of Weinböhla's economy: The production of agricultural products and wine processing.
In 1986, the building was converted into a museum of local history by a unique citizens' initiative. This was opened on September 9, 1989. On June 4, 1990, the old wine cellar, known as the "Peterkeller", was also made accessible again by a citizens' initiative. In 2000/2001, the main building was extensively renovated and reconstructed and a wine tavern was built. The courtyard was later landscaped and paved.
