Kulturpalast Dresden

At a glance

The Kulturpalast Dresden, an architectural jewel in the heart of Dresden, has been a symbol of art, culture and encounter since it opened.

In the centre of Dresden's historic Altmarkt stands the Kulturpalast, a modernist building from the GDR era designed by Wolfgang Hänsch. After extensive renovation, it reopened its doors in 2017 and now presents itself as a multifunctional centre for art and knowledge. Inside, the palace houses the Dresden Philharmonic, a modern city library and the central concert hall, known for its outstanding acoustics. With a variety of events, from classical concerts to contemporary performances, the Kulturpalast attracts both locals and tourists. A visit offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in Dresden's cultural diversity and experience a piece of living history.
