6 stages of pure enjoyment

Pack your rucksack and off you go

The Saxon Wine Trail takes you on a 92-kilometre journey through one of Germany’s most fascinating cultural landscapes. Here, stately architecture, nature and terraced vineyards blend together to create a panorama that tells a new story around every bend.

Saxony is one of Germany’s smallest wine-growing regions and captivates with a diversity best experienced on foot. Between Pirna and Diesbar-Seußlitz, you’ll walk along the River Elbe, past historic castles and through charming wine-growing villages. The beauty of nature and the elegance of the architecture are your constant companions.

Where the first large-scale vineyards appeared on the Elbe, the Saxon Wine Hiking Trail begins: in Pirna.
Saxon Wine Hiking Trail - Stage 2 - From Dresden-Pillnitz to Dresden-Wilder Mann
This stage runs mostly on asphalted, hardly trafficked roads and passes not only all vineyards within the Dresden city area but also stately villas and viticulture-related gems.
Saxon Wine Trail - Stage 3 - From Dresden-Wilder Mann to Radebeul-Zitzschewig
Initially still in Dresden, one of the most beautiful sections of the wine trail then begins in Radebeul.
