Top things to do in Nünchritz
Charming
In the historic centre of Diesbar-Seußlitz, visitors become time travellers: informative walking tours take them straight back to the 18th century, past the majestic Baroque castle, whose park and church invite you to linger and take a moment to reflect. The charm of the Baroque town centre blends with the tradition of winegrowing against a backdrop of woods, rock and a sea of vines – this is a place to savour! And best of all, the local produce. With great care and expertise, exquisite wines are pressed and served in the local vineyards. Incidentally, fine wine is enjoyed in Diesbar-Seußlitz all year round, but twice a year on a much grander scale: at the Federweißer Mile and its winter counterpart, the Mulled Wine Mile, everyone celebrates together.

Hiking and cycling tours
A break from the daily grind
The district of Diesbar-Seußlitz entices visitors with its unspoilt natural beauty and warm hospitality, preserves fine cultural treasures, and is the ideal starting point for a break from everyday life. The Elbe Cycle Route and the Saxon Wine Trail pass through here, with idyllic paths winding through the Seußlitz valley and offering fantastic views over picturesque vineyards.

Due to extensive construction work in the area of Heinrichsburg Castle in Seußlitz, the hiking trail (staircase) will be fully closed from 18.05. to probably 19.06.2026. Please note that the path to Heinrichsburg is a dead end during this time (the viewpoint at Heinrichsburg from the forest road is accessible).
Detour route description from Diesbar to Seußlitz from "Schönster Weinsicht":
Walk back to the large vineyard gate, then turn left along the path through the vineyards towards Seußlitz. At the "Eckholz" archaeological signpost 4, turn right through the gate and take the "Schmiedebergweg" meadow path towards Seußlitz. When you reach the forest road (opposite the castle park), turn left along the forest road. The detour ends below Heinrichsburg/at the exit to the castle park.
Detour route description from Seußlitz to the "Schönste Weinsicht":
You have arrived on Forststraße at the castle park exit/below Heinrichsburg Castle and now keep left. From the staircase with sandstone figures to Heinrichsburg Castle, walk approx. 100 m further along the forest road, then turn right up the meadow path "Schmiedebergweg" and follow the path to the gate at "Eckholz" with the archaeological plaque station 4. Here you turn left onto the path through the vineyards and walk to the vineyard gate. Before the large vineyard gate, you can turn right and take a detour to the "Schönste Weinsicht" or continue straight ahead without taking a detour (detour completed).
If you don't want to ascend or descend via the meadow path, you would have to take Radewitzer Straße in the direction of Forststraße without the vineyard.
