A convenient way to travel to the state capital

Dresden Elbland can be reached from all directions. Travel in an environmentally friendly and comfortable way by train, at your own pace by car, cheaply by long-distance coach – and, of course, by plane too. You’re also welcome to use the timetable information provided by Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe to get around Dresden easily by public transport.

Flexible and sustainable

DVB’s MOBI service offers you a wide range of environmentally friendly ways to explore Dresden. It comprises a wide range of transport options, including trains, buses, funiculars, ferries, MOBIbikes, MOBIcargobikes for carrying larger loads, MOBIcars for those needing more space, and the on-demand MOBIshuttle service in certain areas of the city. Over 60 MOBI points allow you to switch seamlessly between these modes of transport and offer additional services such as e-bike charging points and public Wi-Fi.

A Trip to the Elbe Region

By public transport

S-Bahn line S1: From Dresden, this line takes you directly to Radebeul, Coswig and Meissen, past vineyards and along the River Elbe. 

Line 4 (Dresden – Weinböhla): The ‘Kultourlinie 4’ connects Laubegast, a district of Dresden, with the picturesque town of Weinböhla via Radebeul and Coswig on a unique route stretching almost 30 kilometres. This tram line is not only the longest, but also one of the most fascinating routes from a cultural perspective.

By car

From the north (Berlin): Take the A13 towards Dresden. At the Dresden-Nord motorway junction, join the A4 towards Chemnitz/Leipzig and follow the signs to the Elbland towns.

From the east (Wrocław, Görlitz): Take the A4 towards Dresden. The A4 takes you straight to the eastern edge of the Elbland region. Take the relevant exits for Meissen, Radebeul or other destinations in the Elbland region.

From the south (Prague): Coming from Prague, take the D8/A17 towards Dresden. After crossing the border, follow the signs for Dresden.

From the west (Leipzig, Chemnitz): Coming from Leipzig on the A14, change onto the A4 towards Dresden at the Nossen motorway junction. If travelling from Chemnitz, take the A4 directly towards Dresden.
