Advent at Neumarkt

Advent at Neumarkt

Opposite the Frauenkirche, Neumarkt takes you on a journey back in time to the period from 1830 to 1920. Historic stalls, traditional crafts and the charming Old Town setting make for a delightfully different experience. Open on New Year’s Eve!

The Advent market on Neumarkt takes Dresden’s Old Town back in time to the period between 1830 and 1920. In front of the Frauenkirche stand market stalls recreated in minute detail, alongside traditional crafts, regional goods and food – all of which suit the cobbled streets far better than plastic reindeer. The market is centrally located and ideal for anyone exploring Dresden on foot during Advent. It’s atmospheric, but not over the top. A lovely stop-off between the Frauenkirche, Brühl’s Terrace and a stroll through the Old Town.

It is open on 25 November 2026 from 5.00 pm to 10.00 pm. From 26 November to 23 December and from 27 December to 30 December, it’s open from 11.00 to 22.00. It will be closed from 24 December to 26 December. On New Year’s Eve, there will be a stylish celebration here from 1.00 pm to 12.30 am with winter cocktails and culinary delights – and there’ll be dancing. On 2 January from 11:00 to 22:00 and on 3 January from 11:00 to 18:00.
