Augustusmarkt – International Christmas Market

From 25 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, Dresden will be showcasing its international Christmas spirit at the famous Golden Rider.
The Augustusmarkt stretches through the Innere Neustadt as a brightly lit winter promenade. Between the Golden Rider and Albertplatz, white pagoda tents, international specialities and little gift ideas line the street. There’s also a Ferris wheel, the ‘Blue Tree’ and Christmas huts. You can stroll around, sample the fare, pause for a moment and soon realise that Advent on this side of the Elbe can be quite a relaxed affair. A visit in the evening, when the main street is lit up, is particularly lovely.
The market is closed from 24 to 26 December and on 1 January. Opening hours are Monday to Thursday 11.00–21.00, Friday 11.00–22.00, Saturday 10.00–22.00 and Sunday 10.00–21.00.

Getting there
The Augustusmarkt is situated on the main street between the Golden Rider and Albertplatz. It is easily accessible by tram lines 4 and 9 to Neustädter Markt, and lines 3, 6, 7, 8 and 11 to Albertplatz.
