Bilz bath

Bilz bath

Outdoor pool with wave pool and adventure pool

In June 1905, F. Eduard Bilz opened what was then known as the "Light-Air Bath" in Radebeul. In accordance with his theory of natural healing, people of all ages and from all walks of life were to be able to move freely and engage in sporting activities there.

A special attraction was the wave pool built in 1912, the centerpiece of which, the UNDOSA wave machine, had been purchased by Bilz at the International Hygiene Exhibition in Dresden in 1911.

In the following years, sanitary and utility buildings, gymnastics, tennis and ball fields as well as a music pavilion were built.

In 1975, the Bilzbad had to be sold to the city of Radebeul at the minimum price. From 1992 to 1998, the facility was thoroughly renovated and is still an outdoor pool.
