The Carl Maria von Weber University of Music Dresden is one of the most renowned training centres for aspiring musicians. With a founding history dating back to 1856, it can look back on a long tradition and was awarded university status after the Second World War. Around 600 students currently study at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music Dresden.A particular architectural highlight of the university is the new concert hall, which was built as part of the university's expansion. With 450 seats and excellent acoustics, it offers the ideal setting for musical performances.
Getting there
The Carl Maria von Weber University of Music has excellent public transport connections, with stops at Schweriner Straße, Bahnhof Mitte, Postplatz and Dresden Am Zwingerteich. These stations are only a few minutes' walk away. Lines from both the main railway station and Dresden-Neustadt connect the university with the city centre.
