Kunsthaus Dresden / robotron canteen

A place steeped in history, with character and quite a lot of concrete: the robotron canteen showcases contemporary art in a striking example of post-war East German modernist architecture. If you want to experience Dresden beyond the usual postcard sights, this is the place for you.
The robotron canteen is a special venue for contemporary art in Dresden. The former staff canteen building of VEB robotron epitomises everyday history, East German modernism and the city’s transformation. Today, the Kunsthaus Dresden uses the building as an exhibition and cultural venue. Situated between Lingnerallee, the skate park and the city centre, Dresden reveals a different side of itself here: less of a Baroque backdrop, more of the present day. That is precisely what makes a visit here so exciting.
