In the heart of Dresden's old town, the Staatsschauspiel is an outstanding theatre with four stages and around 600 performances a year. Located directly opposite the Zwinger, it is one of Germany's largest and most modern theatres. The Schauspielhaus and the Kleines Haus offer a varied programme of plays, opera, ballet and concerts. In addition, the theatre inspires with educational programmes for all age groups, including theatre camps for young talent, acting courses for adults and a special programme for budding critics.

Getting there

The theatre is centrally located in the Old Town (Postplatz; trams 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 9, 11, 12). For those arriving by car, there are car parks in the surrounding area.
