Dresden’s Winter Wonderland

At the Haus der Presse, winter brings a proper, cosy and rather convivial atmosphere. The Dresden Hüttenzauber brings a mulled wine garden, a dance hut and curling right into the heart of the city.
The Dresden Hüttenzauber brings a traditional Alpine atmosphere to the city centre: with a mulled wine garden, a dance hut, the Bärenbaude and curling. After work, people meet up here for a mug of mulled wine, a go on the curling rink or just to have a dance. It’s centrally located, easily accessible and offers just the right mix of winter market, party atmosphere and a relaxed get-together. No Alpine panorama, of course. But Dresden is right on your doorstep.
During the season, it’s usually open daily from 5.00 pm to midnight. After-work drinks start at 5.00 pm, and the dance hall is usually open from 7.00 pm onwards. Check the website before visiting to see if it’s closed for the day or hosting private events.
Getting there
The Dresdner Hüttenzauber is located at Ostraallee 18, right next to the Haus der Presse. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the Striezelmarkt, Neumarkt or Augustusmarkt. Several tram lines stop almost right outside, and Mitte railway station is also nearby. Parking is available at the Haus der Presse and in the Mitte multi-storey car park.
