The core of the Radeburg Local History Museum’s cultural-historical collection consists of objects collected in 1907 for the exhibition “Radeburg 100 Years Ago,” which was part of the local festival held that year. Today, the museum’s collection comprises over 5,500 objects, including 19th-century furniture, historical weapons, uniforms and artifacts related to the local shooting club, items documenting the history of local associations, objects reflecting the household life and crafts of Radeburg’s citizens, historical views of the town, and an extensive collection of pewter.

In addition, there are Bronze Age finds discovered in 1928 during construction work at the Radeburg gasworks, which form a significant archaeological collection that has earned Radeburg a place in the history of archaeology.

The museum’s collection also includes over 200 objects related to Radeburg’s most famous son, the painter and graphic artist Heinrich Zille. These include original prints and drawings, letters, and autograph cards, as well as items related to Zille’s legacy, such as figurines, commemorative coins, stamps, and sculptures. Through donations and acquisitions, this part of the collection was most recently expanded significantly in 2018. The museum’s collection also includes over 100 books and publications on Heinrich Zille alone, as well as over 2,500 other printed materials, manuscripts, pictures, and maps.
