Historic Cemetery at Seußlitz Castle

Within the castle grounds in Diesbar-Seußlitz lies the "Historic Cemetery" with many stone sarcophagi and grave monuments.

The church of Seußlitz was used as a burial place for centuries. As early as monastic times, many nobles found their final resting place in it. Later it was also the burial place of the von Pistoris family and the Bünau family, who were interred in the church's crypt. The numerous noble grave monuments were all located in the church, and some were placed on the western side of the cemetery at the beginning of the 20th century.
