Meißen Town Hall

Built in the Late Gothic style, the town hall stretches along the entire northern side of the market square in Meißen.

The town hall is adorned by the main portal, built between 1470 and 1486. The portal is pointed-arched with a round moulding and two hollows on each side. Above the main entrance is the town's coat of arms made of sandstone. The imposing building stands directly on Meißen's market square and is today surrounded by restored and refurbished townhouses. Inside the town hall, on the upper floor, is the large council chamber with a timber-beamed ceiling resting on three stone columns.
