Neumarkt Dresden

Neumarkt Dresden

Neumarkt Dresden, the heart and soul of the city around the Frauenkirche, is one of Dresden's largest reconstruction projects.

The historic and culturally significant Neumarkt in Dresden is located between the Zwinger Palace and the Jewish Synagogue, close to Brühl's Terrace and the Altmarkt. The historic square, famous for its baroque architecture, was almost completely destroyed during the Second World War and restored to its former splendour during a 40-year reconstruction process. The Frauenkirche forms the centre of the Neumarkt. Neumarkt is not only a tourist highlight, but also a vibrant centre of urban life and culture in Dresden.
