Rest Area with Geological Profile Wall and Post Milestone

Hikers' rest area on the Saxon Wine Hiking Trail with information boards on local history and the geology of the Elbe Valley

On the 4th stage of the Saxon Wine Hiking Trail, the hiker reaches the tradition-rich wine-growing village of Weinböhla. The rest area on Bäckersche Hofstraße invites you to linger and look around. A lovingly restored Royal Saxon milestone from 1859/60 and its history are waiting to be discovered. The history of the "Lauben" district, closely connected with viticulture, comes to life on an information board. An elaborately produced profile wall made of 12 different types of rock illustrates the geology of the widening of the Elbe Valley between the Spaargebirge near Meißen and the Weinböhla Fuchsberg. In addition, there is a milestone from 1860 here.
