Show Mine "Aurora Erbstolln"

The Aurora Erbstolln is a disused silver mine and, as a show mine, offers those interested the opportunity to follow the traces of mining.

With a visit to the Aurora Erbstolln you experience a special attraction of our mining educational trail in the valley of the Wilde Weißeritz near Dorfhain. The Aurora-Erbstolln shows the typical development of mining on the edge of the great Saxon mining districts. It is one of the small mine workings in the Weißeritz valley, whose claim dates back to the beginning of the 16th century. From the beginning of April to the end of October we open our small ore mine for interested visitors every Saturday from 10 am to 2.30 pm. Equipped by us with a protective cape, helmet and lamp, you can get to know the historic world of the miner on an approximately 35-minute guided tour. In our mine, besides a windlass shaft installation, you can also see roof and side workings in which silver-bearing lead and copper ore, but also barite and fluorite, were mined.
