Torgau Christmas Market
From 4 to 20 December, Torgau is transformed into a place full of festive moments thanks to the Christmas market. Lovingly decorated stalls, festive music and the historic ambience of the old town create a festive atmosphere that invites you to linger.
It is open Monday to Thursday from 11 am to 7 pm, Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 8 pm, and Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm. Times may be subject to change at short notice, so please check again before you visit.
The Torgau Christmas Market brings the spirit of Advent straight to the market square in front of the town hall. Amidst decorated stalls, music and the historic backdrop of the old town, it’s a great place to stroll around, sample the goods and linger. The market is a meeting place for families, friends and neighbours – exactly the sort of Christmas market where you quickly find yourself staying longer than you’d planned. There’s no need for a big show here. The combination of the Renaissance town hall, the lights and the familiar market square atmosphere is more than enough.
Getting there
The market is centrally located in the historic old town, next to the town hall. Torgau can be reached by train via the Leipzig – Torgau – Falkenberg – Cottbus / Hoyerswerda line, using the S4 or RE10 services. By car, the B87, B182 and B183, amongst others, lead to Torgau; there are car parks around the town centre. The Elbe Cycle Route also runs through Torgau.
