Traditional Christmas market at the Frauenkirche

Traditional Christmas market at the Frauenkirche

In Münzgasse, right next to the Frauenkirche, you’ll find a traditional Christmas atmosphere: crafts, stollen, mulled wine and sweet treats.

The Traditional Christmas Market at the Frauenkirche is situated in the heart of Dresden’s Old Town, on Münzgasse, right next to the famous dome. Amidst the lights and stalls, you’ll find wooden crafts from the Ore Mountains, candles, Christmas tree decorations, stollen, Baumstriezel, chestnuts, mulled wine and Feuerzangenbowle. This isn’t a hidden gem tucked away in a quiet side street, but it is a lovely spot for anyone exploring Dresden on foot during Advent who enjoys being right in the thick of things.

The Christmas market will be open from 25 November to 24 December 2026. Monday to Thursday: 10.00 am to 9.00 pm, on Fridays and Saturdays from 10.00 to 22.00, and on Sundays from 10.00 to 21.00. On 24 December, it closes at 14.00. After that, all that’s left is a plate of biscuits.
